As part of a usage review (achievement use assessment) of the Ouagadougou Urban Incubator aimed at defining the future facilities of the Urban Development Master Plan 2 (PDDO2) , meetings were organised to give a voice to users, cultural players and institutions.
Award ceremony and launch of partnerships with local associations in Kahawa Soweto, Kayole Soweto and City Carton
UFI Nairobi recently organised these award ceremonies for community organisations in the three neighbourhoods of Kahawa Soweto, Kayole Soweto and City Carton. Winners of the call for initiatives, the five organisations were selected for their in-depth understanding of community needs and their innovative project ideas for the various neighbourhoods.
Launch of the MOOC "The collective urban factory: ideas and tools for co-producing African cities"
In African cities, housing, transport, services, urban spaces and productive activities are the result of initiatives, investments and actions carried out by a wide range of institutional, formal and informal, public and private players. Yet these dynamics represent a way of making the city that the public authorities often struggle to follow, or even to (re)understand in the case of informal activities.
Inauguration of the Lycée des Parcelles Assainies site (UFI Dakar)
In July, the UFI Dakar inaugurated its fourth site at the Lycée des Parcelles Assainies (LPA). The new pedestrian areas, pavements and public benches will enable people to wait for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in complete safety and peace.
