Over the years, the Urban Fabric Initiatives have built up unique experience, knowledge and methodologies for implementing the various stages of a project (participatory diagnosis, co-design, co-construction and management). This section contains a list of tools for urban planning professionals and future operators of Urban Fabric Initiatives created by past and present UFI operators.
The Urban Fabric Initiatives’ inclusive approach involves the active participation of a wide range of stakeholders at every stage of the urban project. Diagnosis, the first phase of the project, is an essential step: it establishes the project's foundations and identity, and provides an understanding of the context and terrain in which the project is to be implemented. Diagnosis collects both objective, technical data and data drawn from local knowledge, at times more subjective, reflecting the real-life experiences of users. These two types of data complement each other, ensuring a complete and adapted understanding of the situation.
