Objectives

  • To support the Commune Urbaine d'Antananarivo (CUA) in implementing a co-production approach in its policy of developing public spaces and active mobility involving different stakeholder groups(residents, users, local authorities, landowners, etc.);
  • Support the development of neighborhood initiatives through the co-construction of developments with residents.

Results

  • The Urban Fabric Initiative takes into account the uses and expectations of local residents in terms of neighborhood life, sports and culture, as well as the barriers to access to these services and facilities for certain members of the population;
  • Developments and initiatives are carried out and managed by the mobilization of civil society and/or local residents to develop qualitative and inclusive public spaces;
  • The capacities of project stakeholders are strengthened through training sessions and tailored support, as well as project monitoring, evaluation and capitalization.

Implementation

The project is being implemented by GRET and Cabanon Vertical in close collaboration with the Commune Urbaine d'Antananarivo (CUA).
