Award ceremony and launch of partnerships with local associations in Kahawa Soweto, Kayole Soweto and City Carton
UFI Nairobi recently organised these award ceremonies for community organisations in the three neighbourhoods of Kahawa Soweto, Kayole Soweto and City Carton. Winners of the call for initiatives, the five organisations were selected for their in-depth understanding of community needs and their innovative project ideas for the various neighbourhoods.
The five organisations - Faulu in City Carton, Soweto Jacaranda and Jamak Disabled in Kayole Soweto, Kaeni Sober and Soweto Kongo in Kahawa Soweto - received their awards at official ceremonies in November and December.
Following a rigorous evaluation process, the selected organisations are now working closely with the Nairobi Urban Incubator. Co-design workshops are currently under way to develop their projects and meet the needs of residents and communities as effectively as possible.
